Sal founded Corna Construction, Inc. in 1974 after learning the trade from his family of European craftsmen. At that time he worked as a contractor primarily in the Oak Park, River Forest and surrounding areas.

After repeated inquires from his customers for unique, high quality materials for their kitchen and bath projects, he decided to open a retail division to meet their needs. Corna Tile & Marble was opened in 1997 and in 2007, CT&M expanded to include the building next door. His 2nd showroom is known as Corna Kitchen/Bath & Tile.
